WhatsApp Now Lets You Pin Up to Three Messages in a Chat

WhatsApp users can now pin multiple messages in a chat, making it easier to keep track of important information. This long-awaited feature was announced by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and WhatsApp head Will Cathcart on their respective WhatsApp channels.



Previously, users could only pin one message to the top of a conversation. This update increases the limit to three messages, which can be a lifesaver in group chats where important details often get buried under a flurry of messages.



Here's what you need to know about pinning multiple messages in WhatsApp:

  • How to Pin a Message:

    • Open a WhatsApp chat and locate the message you want to pin.
    • Long press on the message.
    • Select "Pin" from the context menu.
    • Choose the duration for the pinned message (24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days).

  • Multiple Message Pinning:

    • You can now pin up to three messages per chat.
    • Pinned messages appear in a banner at the top of the chat.
    • The most recently pinned message appears first in the banner.
    • Tap the banner to cycle through all of your pinned messages.

  • Pin Duration:

    • You can choose how long a message stays pinned for (24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days).
    • This helps you get rid of pinned messages if the information becomes irrelevant.

  • Pinning in Group Chats:

    • Group admins can control who can pin messages in the group (all members or admins only).
