Google’s Gemini Live: AI Camera and Screen Sharing Now Free on Android

Gemini Live is Google’s new real-time AI assistant for Android – you can talk to it naturally and even show it what you’re seeing. Google has now made its advanced camera and screen-sharing abilities free for all Android users, turning these once-premium perks into Gemini Live free features.




What the New Camera and Screen-Sharing Features Do

Gemini Live’s new visual features essentially give the assistant “eyes.” It can now respond based on what your camera sees or what’s on your screen. For instance, show it a broken device or share your screen, and it will understand the context to assist you.




  • AI Camera Help: Point your phone’s camera at something and ask Gemini about it for quick help. For example, show a broken appliance to get DIY fix tips.

  • Android Screen Sharing: Share your screen with Gemini Live. If you’re stuck in an app or comparing products, the AI can see it and guide you in real time.

How to Use Them

  1. Long-press the power button (or open the Gemini app) to launch Gemini Live.

  2. Tap the camera icon for live camera help, or tap “Share screen with Live” for screen sharing.

  3. Point your camera at the problem (or open the relevant screen) and ask your question.




Why It Matters for Everyday Users

Now, every Android user has an on-demand tech helper. No more struggling with tricky settings or gadget issues alone – just ask Gemini (and show it the problem if needed). It makes everyday tasks like fixing issues or getting cooking, or shopping tips much easier. Best of all, no special device or subscription is needed.
