Apple enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating today’s “It’s Glowtime” event, set to begin at 1 PM ET (10 AM PT), where the tech giant will unveil its latest lineup. From the iPhone 16 series to the Apple Watch Series 10, AirPods, and possibly more, this event promises to be a major moment in the tech calendar. Here’s what you need to know:




iPhone 16 Series: The Star of the Show

Undoubtedly, the most anticipated announcement is the iPhone 16 series. Apple is expected to unveil four models: the iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, and 16 Pro Max. These devices will likely come with significant performance and design upgrades.

  • Processor Upgrades: The standard models will be powered by the new A18 chip, while the Pro models will feature the more powerful A18 Pro chip, offering improved performance and energy efficiency.
  • Design and Display: There’s speculation about a design refresh, including a vertical camera layout for the standard models and slightly larger screens (6.3 inches for the Pro, 6.9 inches for the Pro Max).
  • New Features: The Pro models could include a new "Action Button" and a stunning gold titanium colour option, further distinguishing them from the standard variants.



Apple Watch Series 10: A New Era for Smartwatches

The Apple Watch Series 10 (or X) is rumoured to debut with bigger screens and a new band system. These changes may be subtle but will enhance the overall user experience.

  • Health Innovations: Although sleep apnea detection and blood pressure monitoring were rumoured, it’s unclear if these features will make their debut today.
  • Apple Watch Ultra 3: Expect iterative upgrades for the Ultra series, with the possibility of a new colour option. Major design changes aren’t anticipated. 



AirPods 4: Enhanced Audio, USB-C Charging

Apple’s wireless earbud lineup is also set for an upgrade. Two models are rumoured, catering to both budget-conscious consumers and those looking for a premium audio experience.

  • New Features: Both models will feature a USB-C charging case, aligning with Apple’s shift toward this universal standard. The mid-tier model is expected to include active noise cancellation.
  • AirPods Max: There’s also buzz about an update to the AirPods Max, featuring improved noise cancellation and USB-C charging.



iPad mini 7 and Mac Mini: Possibilities and Long Shots

While the focus of today’s event is on the iPhone and Apple Watch, there are murmurs about an iPad mini refresh. The iPad mini 7 could feature a processor upgrade and new colour options, but it’s unclear whether Apple will reveal this today.

Rumors about a redesigned Mac mini are swirling too, with expectations for a smaller, sleeker version featuring the M4 or M4 Pro chip. However, this announcement might be reserved for a separate event later in the year.




iOS 18: What’s Next for Apple’s Software

Apple’s latest operating system, iOS 18, is expected to roll out shortly after the event. It will likely bring enhanced Apple Intelligence features, although the full release of these features could come with iOS 18.1 later in the year.
