Google's Search Generative Experience (SGE) is an AI-powered search feature that has expanded its availability to over 120 countries.

Initially, it was only available in the US for those who signed up for Search Labs, but it has gradually rolled out to more countries. The latest expansion includes countries like Mexico, Brazil, South Korea, Indonesia, Nigeria, and more.



In addition to the global expansion, Google has introduced several new features and improvements to SGE:
  1. Easier Follow-Up Questions: Google is experimenting with a new way for users to ask follow-up questions directly from the search results page. This makes it easier for users to explore a topic in-depth and seek more information.
  2. AI-Powered Translations: SGE is improving translations to provide more context. If a word has multiple meanings, the AI will detect this and offer multiple meanings for that word. This feature is initially coming for English-to-Spanish translations, with plans to expand to other languages.
  3. Definitions for Coding and Health: The definitions feature, which was initially used for topics like science, economics, and history, will now include coding and health information. This feature provides word definitions and related images to enhance educational searches.



These updates are being rolled out, with the initial release in the United States. Google is also extending support for four new languages: Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, and Indonesian, in addition to existing languages like English, Hindi, and Japanese. The goal of SGE is to provide more comprehensive and interactive search results, similar to Bing Chat, and enhance the search experience for users.
