Meta disbands its Responsible AI team

Meta, the parent company of Facebook, has disbanded its Responsible AI (RAI) team. The team was responsible for ensuring the ethical and safe use of artificial intelligence across Meta's products and platforms.

The move has raised concerns about Meta's commitment to responsible AI development. However, Meta has said that it will continue to prioritize and invest in safe and responsible AI development.

Most of the RAI team members have been reassigned to the company's Generative AI product team, which is working on creating artificial content such as text and images using machine learning. Some others have been assigned to the company's AI infrastructure team.

The US government has signed agreements with several AI companies and has also instructed its agencies to formulate AI safety rules.
